live from the cbs bay area studios, this is kpix5 news. a search tonight for a cal student reported missing on a strip to southern california. the last contact he had with friends. good evening. visits friends in the los angeles area this weekend. he is a soccer student athlete in his freshman year at cal. he and friends were staying near campus but as the party wound down, he was separated from his friends. >> they were in contact with each other throughout the party

and then lost contact with him at 1:30. they told him he wanted to go to the beach and they told him not to. >> reporter: he has not been seen or heard from since. his family is there, we have a report at uc berkeley and we will have reaction coming up at 6:30. bad weather is blamed for the canada plane making a hard landing, two dozen people were hurt when the plane skidded off of the run way. he talked to the passengers. >> reporter: the rough landing damaged the nose and buckled the wings. snow was falling hard just after midnight. >> the pilots were telling us that the conditions of the land were not good. so, they left us flying around here for over half an hour. and, -- until they found a hole to get us to come in and land in on. >> reporter: when the plane got clear apse the passenger say it hit the power line on

mountain of the french alps. a german newspaper reports he may have been suffering from a detached retina. a senior investigator is saying that he was treated by several nurrologist and psychiatrists. their parent company says they are not a -- neuro-- many doctors. their parent company says they are not aware of any problems. lindsay kohn was crushed to death on monday. she was in her car in her driveway when a trailer dumping tons of gravel toppled over. the 32-year-old had a 4-year- old daughter and was pregnant with her second child. her boss set up a go fund me page hoping to raise $10,000

announcement in late april or may. so far texas senator ted cruz is the only one who officially announced his run. florida senator marco rubio is expected to announce his bid on april 13th. he has been ramping up his firsts lately. 43 years old, he would be one of the youngest candidates in the field. kentucky senator is expected to run. as for the democrats nobody officially entered that race. hilary rodham clinton is expected to run. lately she has been hiring a staff to organize a campaign. also in the mix, former maryland governor martin o 'malley. one person not runs, warren. >> a dark shadow has been cast on the san francisco county jail. all because of an inmatees skate and a fighting ring among the deputies. we report the sheriff has an idea to stop bad behavior among

two bodies were found today after the rubble of the building that collapsed. the mayor says somebody may have improperly tapped a gas line in the building before the explosion. the utility company consolidated edison says two were wrongly tapped. a police officer shot in the face during a traffic stop is improving tonight following surgery. the doctors removed a bullet lodged below his ear. the officer was shot on friday as he approached a car. the man was a suspect in another shooting. he was killed during a shootout with the police. the officer has been identified arizona a former army ranger and iraq veteran. the memorial for a fallen san jose police officer is growing. police chief posted his picture

on twitter -- that is actually not the right picture. the picture is of flowers and candles outside police headquarters. there is the officer right there. the flowers and messages have been leaving as they stop to pay tribute. officer mikal johnson was killed in an ambush on tuesday night. he was responding to to a call of a suicidal man. another officer shot and killed a suspect. johnson was with the police department for 14 years, his funeral is set for this thursday. indiana's governor is doing a little bit of explaining tonight. he is defending a new state law that opponents say will lead to discrimination. hundreds are protesting against the religious freedom restoration act. despite the backlash, the governor says it was not a mist ache -- mistake to pass it. >> there are no kinder and

a dozen people were stranded when a roller coaster got stuck. passengers had to climb down the side of the tracks to safety. it is not clear why the coaster stopped. now t is called the super bowl of wrestling. for the first time -- now, it is called the super bowl of wrestling. for the first time it is here. we have more from the event. >> reporter: the show started a little while ago. for those that do not know what wrestle mania is, it is the super bowl of the wwe. what every wrestling fan waits for at the end of the season. it is going on behind me at levi stadium. 70,000 fans inside of the stadium right now. it was not easy for some to get here. we heard from fans traffic was not bad if you got it early. some got had her four to five hours early. if you waited until the last minute you waited in traffic just to park and then the ordeal of getting to the stadium and to top it all off,

problems here there is potential for tsunamis there is a warning issued for that. for us, no problem. again, magnitude of 6. and, if we get more information about that we will let you know. it was 60 minutes ago. here is how it looks looking live over san jose with the numbers right now. concord, 82 degrees, livermore, 83 degrees. sanfrancisco, 63 degrees and san jose, 78. santa rosa right now, 80 degrees, out the door tomorrow morning it looks like there is plenty of sunshine around. readings as we seen them lately. in the low 50s for the most part in the bay area. plenty of sunshine to start out the day. then the plot thickens as we get low pressure on the way for the coast midweek. that means the temperatures will cool down tuesday and wednesday. but, high pressure in the meantime assures us a mild monday. that part of it, nice. mild monday and cooling a little bit on tuesday. then, we will pick up as well. wednesday, gets gusty, a little on the cool side.

and, then, the numbers are going to come back up by next weekend. in terms of cloud coverage, late in the day, monday morning, 6:00, a few low clouds, as time wears on we are looking at how clouds coming in. the feel tomorrow, sunny, nice monday on tap. tuesday, school is out. so, to sum it all up, mild again on monday, cooling and windy tuesday and wednesday. and then as the high pressure that has been off shore for so long finally begins to kickin land there is the potential that we lose the high that is off -- kick inland there is the potential that we lose the high that is off of the coast. temperatures low in the 50s tonight, low 40s, tomorrow, near average in san francisco, but warmer than average in parts of the bay area. 76 in palo alto, fremont, out on the east bay, 78 for livermore.
